Mohan's Measure ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐

It is something so simple that every parent takes it for granted. A simple app on the phone, enough to entertain and/or distract a child. But, it often can serve as bait in the wrong hands. A thought provoking message offered subtly in Chiththa, a well written and well directed movie, which brings Siddharth back to the screen.

His acting as a protective uncle who is falsely accused of a horrible crime is often understated. His accusal and eventual acquittal plays second to his trying to find his kidnapped niece, the one who is the very extension of himself.

This niece is the true anchor of this film. How little Sahasra Shree goes from mischievous, pampered girl to terror-struck victim leaves us dumbfounded. Such acting is the stuff of seasoned older actors, and it is not expected from such a young person. This actress is going to make something of herself in the industry.

While the poetic license of an ordinary man standing alongside cops remains a bit much, the pathos, understated acting and subtle message makes Chiththa a worthy watch.
