Remember what I say about rom-coms?  If done correctly, they always work; particularly in the Telugu industry, where such movies are filled with sentiments about family and include the talents of well-known comedians.  As such, this is the stuff you can feel safe watching with the kids.

2007's Chandamama is an example I recommend to anyone wanting some fun family time, albeit the unavoidable moments of drunken stupor.  The acting is convincing and the story is refreshingly middle class and believable.  Plus, the idea of Westerners coming to India to study its ancient culture and spirituality is a great message to pass on to the kids.

 

With all that's going on with the pandemic in India right now, a fun-filled romantic comedy is recommended as the genre of choice.
