Mohan's Measure ⭐⭐

A over–pampered little girl, a creepy old house, a tattered old doll...and...a bright red, haunted refrigerator.  Wait...huh?

Kerala, at least in movies, seems to be at conflict with itself, as God's Own Country battles it out against the sickle and ploughshare for the hearts and minds of the people. 

Mr. Prithviraj is, as always, impressive as the tough, clean cop.  If the talented Ms. Aditi had been offered the opportunity to match wits with him, this movie would have scored. Instead, she is left to play a frightened young single mother who must protect herself and her daughter from frightening clues appearing in her kitchen appliances. 

We are to be impressed by the clever fact that the two leads don't meet until after their respective investigations lead them to an intersecting moment. However, the jagged connection between investigation and hokey date night horror flick makes it hard to believe. 

Frankly, the whole thing left me cold.
