For one of the worst movies I've seen this year, Aakariyam remains one of the most beautifully made. Set in a remote village in Kerala during the Pandemic, the movie features three amazing stars who present their characters naturally, believably, without histrionic or overt emotion.

And herein lies the problem for the movie.  One feels like shaking the characters awake to tell them there is a murder involved here.  No amount of lucid, understated acting is going to change that this is supposed to be a mystery, not a family film.

It seems like the actors didn't care about the script, and in turn, neither will we.
