Taml Nadu's fascination for all things Tarentino continues in  Doctor, a very dark comedy about a very dark subject.

Indeed, I found myself confused about how child trafficking could be used as the backdrop for offbeat humor.  But, thanks to the talent of Yogi Babu, it works.  Indeed, all the other actors in this movie offer fairly decent performances, except for the lead.  Mr. Karthikeyan wanders on and off, appearing that he doesn't quite know what to do or how to react when something happens.

 

Director Nelson does a fine job playing off of this, though, creating a character who is not quite there when it comes to his emotions, but knowing what he wants when it comes to pulling off an improbable task.

 

We are tasked with not trying to interpret the logic of what is going on, which put  quite a burden on my engineer's mind.  But, dark comedy and Nelson combined, we have the makings of an engaging piece of pulp fiction.
