Atrangi Re is a finely crafted, beautifully told, screwball comedy about what could be one of the strangest love triangles in movie history.

The story tells of a forced marriage between a Tamil man leaving for his engagement, and a young Bihari woman who is passionately in love with another man that no one, other than her, really sees.  The twist in how these two men play out for her affections make for the fun of the movie, and the depth of humanism that it brings out.

While Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar attempt to keep up, it is really Dhanush who brings the human sentiment to make this movie work.  It is a zany story, a bittersweet drama, and a coming-of-age film all at once, and Mr. Dhanush leads this along like the conductor of a fine orchestra.

While there are occasional moments where we feel we are being rushed along in the first half, the second half grips us with touching sentiments and a bittersweet ending.

I would highly recommend this movie to lovers of good film.
