It is clear from the star cast and setting that Bro Daddy is itching to be dubbed in several South Indian languages.  It is set in a noveau riche world, which the Telugus will relate to.  It has an elderly Tamil couple that will bring in those looking for Tamil stars.  And, part of it is set in Bangalore which makes even Kannada a possibility.

Indeed, there is something for everyone in this movie, and that is what makes this fun film so problematic for critics.  Bro Daddy is very much like a really good tomato soup that has been laced with too much gharam masala.  Everyone is so busy wanting to prove to us this is good film-making, that they forget about acting in the film.

The story certainly is a spicy one.  Neighbors and best friends are trying to convince their kids to marry each other, without even suspecting at first that they the two are actually living together.  That is until a pregnancy happens, and coincidentally coincides with another one.  Indeed, father and son have both been keeping quite busy.

There is a Catholicism at work here, but it is hidden behind so many facts being taken for granted, we hardly recognize it.  And, by the time we start to recognize Mohanlal for his philosophy and sensitivity, the movie is almost over.

I did not see Badai Ho, but critics say Bro Daddy is better.  Perhaps the acting and the breezy family story is.  But, to say this one of Lalettan's hits would be to impregnate this review with much exaggeration.
