Mohan's Measure ⭐⭐⭐⭐
After reviewing so many movie that feel contrived, I find myself wanting to take a break by sinking in to a really good film. And, I often find my roll of the dice landing on Thegidi.
This 2014 thriller impresses me with its tightly wound plot and refreshingly understated acting. The romance is in the background, as too is the music. What is to remember is the story.
Indeed, even the acting is not that important. All the lead characters offer fair performance, with Mr. Selvan taking the lead. However, Thegidi is like a good Hitchcock movie in which the plot controls everything.
The tightly wound plot involves a freshman detective who is hired to observe a few key people for clients who are seeking to know more about them. Soon, however, they are winding up dead. The detective returns to the agency which hired him only to find it doesn't exist.
With that as the backdrop, we are set to be whisked away, along with these characters, into an ever deepening mystery, some subtle romance and comedy, and lots of lots solid sleuthing.
Thegidi's story is so deep, you may want to watch it more than once, like I do.
