Romance in modern India can be quite difficult to pull off in the family movies of the South.  This is especially true in Kollywood, where Mr. Sethupathi's reputation keeps him as no less the gentlemen, even in sharing a bed with the likes of Nayantara and Samantha. Poor guy🙄 He loves both of them. But he can't decide which one to marry. 

It is no wonder the two female characters don't get along. But we can only wonder at how the once reigning glamour girl of Tamil Nadu took the back seat to the provocative dressing of Ms. Samantha. In some ways the severe contrast weakens an already weak movie. 

As too, does the vacuous lack of morality.  I mean, this is namma Tamil Nadu, land of Thirukkural and the Sacred Feminine. To what levels of male chauvinism can we attribute the women having to accept their lover two-timing them?  To top it off, they must also put aside his feigned illness and the embarrassing way he brought their love triangle to the public. 

Had this been a better movie, the two smart women would have found a way to exact serious revenge, and I, for one, would have cheered them on.  But Kollywood wants to make pan - Indian film, in which I guess guys have the upper hand. 

To me, who watched as I quarantined, despite the big name stars, this is another addition to the pandemic of truly bad movie making.
