Mohan's Measure ⭐

Kollywood is in the dark.  For the better part of half this movie, we are either in a creepy home in a power outage or running away from it in the dark of night. 

The director seems to think the audience is in the dark, too.  What else could explain the repetition of dialogues over and over so that we are made aware of obvious elements in the plot. I mean, if I had a dollar for every time Ms. Rajesh says ''yennAchu'' I could buy a yacht. 

But, perhaps, it is the director who is asking. The plot is poorly pieced together, it feels like we are being jostled around on a rusty roller coaster.  At first, we are seeing a horror movie, then a syrupy drama, then a discussion on climate change, and finally ending with a message about returning to our Vedic roots.  

If the writers and director had just focused on one story line, we could have had something to talk about. Perhaps, even Ms. Rajesh could have had a few lines.
