Mohan's Measure ⭐⭐

Mollywood has always been a go to for good movies. The plots are believable, the acting is convincing and the sets refreshingly middle class. And although each story is unique unto itself, hyperbole is a rare oddity.  

And then along comes Rorschach, a surreal neo noir thriller with an undertone of horror. While critics have, with some justification, praised it for its unique concepts, I must beg beg to differ for the same. Variety does not necessarily mean a good story, and Rorschach is seriously lacking one. 

The plot seems to be more of an excuse, to show different sides of Mammooty's brilliant acting. But around it are built gimmicks which venture into the surreal, none of which are ever explained. Is Luke insane? Is he suffering from PTSD? Why on earth is he using a human skull as an ashtray? And why, just for seconds, do we see him in a straight jacket? 

We may have to be put in one ourselves if we figure this out.
