Mohan's Measure ⭐⭐

I find myself often holding my breath at Telugu movies. For it is only a matter of time before the best of intentions fall to mass expectations.  However, I am as shocked as everyone else in seeing the classy Mr. Adivi falling for this. In the first half we see the Indian American actor at his best. He is stoic, analytical, worldly wise, and undoubtedly romantic. But, by the second half he is groveling before the villain and writhing in pain while being stabbed by a sundry of blunt metal objects. And to top it all off, he is rescued by a police dog.

Nonetheless, Mr. Adivi is perhaps the sole reason this film is receiving praise. The female actresses surrounding him offer little more than fanfare to this super cop, while the male compatriots offer stereotypical criticism followed by praise. In that regard, Mr. Rao Ramesh's usual witty remarks are little less than grumblings, making him a highly under-utilized addition to the crew. 

It used to be at one time that mass appeal movies would focus on comedy and eye candy.  The new focus is on body parts and gore...  insanely sadistic gore. 

It sickens me to think this lowest common denominator is needed to sell that could have been a really good Sesh Adivi film.
