Then my heart with pleasure fills And dances with the daffodils. - Daffodils
Despite their sense of connection to the Sacred, even the most ancient of cultures have moments of Bohemian anarchy, in response perhaps to a quirky fascination with our physical being. Only the legendary Mohanlal could bring it to life in a way that we are asked not to judge.
But, judge we do, this Hemingway-esque script writer and his inflated self-love, his obsessions with drugs and alcohol, and his insatiable lust for women. But would this be the reason for someone to murder him?
Enter the equally eccentric Dr. Vaidyanathan. He sees dead people, and exchanges in a philosophical conversation with the now dead Bohemian in ways that are imaginative, but over the top. He wants to determine whodunit but the spirited writer's spirit doesn't reveal. Mr. Gopi pulls off a role with sheer conviction, in a way that it brings goosebumps.
But, it is Anoop Menen's role as Aadi that tells of a much darker side to Bohemian life, a side verging on madness. Mr. Menen keeps things surprisingly grounded for a movie about the inexplicable, perhaps the insane, putting the pieces of a man's life and death to create a creepy and convincing mystery.
