Ira would have be an amazing movie, had it not been for the revenge element. A dedicated CBI officer should need little more than justice as its own reward. Stooping to revenge reduces the noir nuance to mass appeal.

But so too does the bravado, an over the top overconfidence that makes us know the director was seeking a hit, rather than striving for good film.

But thanks to Mr. Mukundan and his unbelievable acting, an engaging story ensues to an unexpected conclusion.

Mukundan is an undercover CBI officer who is investigating the quick arrest and conviction of a young doctor for the murder of a politician. We learn of the doctor through several flashbacks and the cop's own through a whole other separate one.  They say something about the movie's mass appeal, and these weaken what happens in the present.
