The Jeetu Joseph - Lalettan combo has done it again. Neru is a cinematic masterpiece. 

Key to its success is Ms. Anaswara's powerful acting.  She brilliantly executes the emotion and the courage of the victim and sole witness to a brutal rape. What complicates the matter, and proof of her acting skills, is that the victim is blind.  

Surprisingly, the movie offers little in the way of emotional drama. What is offered is a no nonsense trial in which both sides do everything to win, and a young woman and her family must put their dignity on the line for each.

Dignity is of course the modus operandi for Mohanlal Sir.  The back story is offered only in passing to his fine acting, which remains pronounced but not overdramatic.

Neru is a no nonsense courtroom drama with powerful acting. Who could ask for anything more?
