For those who remember the famous scene, in which the reunited father and son toss baseballs on an empty field, you can save the Kleenex.  Ma Nanna Superhero has as little to do with fathers as it does superheroes. Instead, we are offered a scenic tour of Kerala, while a desperate tour driver is trying to rob a winning lottery ticket from a man, who just by the way and in passing, is his long lost dad.

While the acting isn't bad, we the audience find ourselves wondering where the story is.  There is little of self realization, finding connection, or looking for meaning here.  It is simply a story that begins and ends not in sentiment, but in dollars and sense. It seems that a man's desperate search for his son is only so he has someone to pass his dough on to.

Frankly, these guys can have their cake and eat it too.
