If you see this poster and recognize the guy as being one of the thugs in Jailer. you have read my mind. Shiva Rajkumar is in the very same clothing as what he wore in Jailer, perhaps because he may have shot both movies at the same time.  And while BG is not the same plot as Rajni's film, we unfortunately have to put up with the same degree of gory violence.  

 

If there were a movie I would liken it to, though, it's Kaala, an equally horrid movie about a local goon who protects his turf and people within it from the onslaught of the rich billionaires who seek to benefit from the land.  There is also a hint of Thalaivaa, where a good man sacrifices the love of his life to become deified as a god for mercilessly killing members of rival gangs.  

 

The clincher transformational scene is easily telling of how rotten the plot is; a little girl reads out the names of people to be killed, and each victim reveals himself so that he can be shot to death with a semiautomatic rifle.  What, hasn't anyone heard of Spartacus?

 

 Needless to say, I made it through the most of the film, fidgeting with the remote control, when finally, and inexplicably, I, like the hero, made a sacrifice...giving up my movie time and turning this stupid thing off.  

 

I have learned this movie is a prequel to another bloodbath called Mufti.  But to save my fingers and the remote control, I will skip it, thanks.
